This date was sponsored by Embassy Suites by Hilton, but the opinions are my own.
Vacations are necessary in the culture we live. We’re all busy and usually on the go. Vacations give us time to recharge and reconnect with ourselves and our loved ones. Anthony and I reside in Nashville, TN, which has become an “IT” city as of late. When you live in an up and coming city why not take time to recharge in your own backyard? This week’s edition of weeknight date night was a joint venture. We had a staycation and enjoyed the city.
The first thing you need for a staycation is a place to stay. Our friends at Embassy Suites were nice enough to provide us with a room for the night. We stayed at the Embassy Suites Convention Center which is located 20 minutes south of downtown Nashville. The hotel has 283 guest suites and offers all the wonderful amenities associated with the Embassy Suites by Hilton including onsite restaurant, U-Medi Spa, fitness center, indoor pool and hot tub. It’s definitely a great place for the ultimate staycation.
We checked in and were told about their awesome complimentary happy hour which includes beer, wine, cocktails, sodas and snacks. #Winning We got to our suite, and it felt like home! We had our own living area and a nice comfortable bedroom. It kind of felt like when we were dating and Anthony would come visit my apartment. Seriously, it felt cozy like a home! We lounged around in the room a bit, but not too long because the weather was amazing that day.
We went downstairs and hopped in our ride. Wait, let me back up. I totally forgot to mention that earlier that day we stopped by Tesla and picked up their Model S Wildcat. They were kind enough to let us test drive it for the day. You haven’t lived life until you have driven one of these! They gave us a tour of the car which included them showing us all the bells and whistles. It’s like using your phone, everything is powered by a huge touchscreen on the dash. We hopped in, let the sunroof back and took a drive around the city. Again, the weather was amazing so it was great just riding enjoying each other, the car and the city.
How do you top off a staycation? Well, a nice steakhouse of course. We’ve been hitting the gym and eating fairly well so neither of us has had beef in about two months. Let’s just say one of us pulled up the menu on their phone prior to us arriving so they would be ready when the waitress came to take our order (Anthony). We went to Connors Steak and Seafood. The atmosphere was nice, but not too stuffy. It was the perfect setting for a romantic date night. We talked, laughed, ate, ate and ate some more. We finished out the night by jumping back into the beautiful Tesla and driving around the city before heading back to our home away from home, Embassy Suites.
The next morning we awoke and went downstairs to the complimentary breakfast buffet. They have a cooked to order omelet station as well. We checked out, took one last drive in the Tesla and returned it to the Tesla dealership. I joked and said I felt like Cinderella at midnight lol.
I definitely recommend experiencing a staycation with your mate or by yourself in order to recharge and reconnect.
Until next time loves…
Sounds like an amazing night! Overnight getaways are such a great way to reconnect – I definitely need to get better at making them a priority!
We do too! This was the first one we’ve had in years.
One heck of a staycation! A telsa??? Sweet!
That Tesla was freaking amazing!
What a FUN date! My husband would die if we had a Tesla for the day!
Trust me it was awesome!!!
Ok I’m kinda jealous that this was your staycation. Looks like a great time though and I love the Tesla! Nice ride 🚘
It was so much fun!
Now that’s the ultimate date! I need to do that here in Cleveland, with my husband.

It was so much fun+
My hubs and I use to do staycations. They were fun and I am glad we did them and we also took our first family vacation the summer before he passed away. So necessary to bond and build those memories with the spouse.
I’m sorry for your loss!
You guys did it all the way up. I love the Embassy Suites brand, they always provide a great time. They always have a fun Happy Hour something going on in the lobby.
Our kids leave for a seven day vacation tomorrow and we are doing a bit of a staycation while they are gone.
Yes that happy hour came in handy lol. I hope you two have LOTS of fun!
I love a good staycation. I love that everything was at your fingertips. Breakfast and happy hour included. lad you had a great time!
Yes it was so convenient
I’m all about a good staycation. I’m looking forward to getting out with my hubby for my birthday. Dating is a great way to keep the spark alive.
I love birthdays. I hope you enjoy yourself.
I love the embassy suites. I went to Nashville, TN last year and enjoyed myself. I like the fact that you all take the time to date each other, its super important in a relationship to keep the fire burning. The steak house sounds delicious.
I’m glad Nashville showed you a good time ❤
This looks like a great time! I am getting a little time alone with the hubby soon, so we’ll likely check out Embassy Suites. We are a fan of the happy hours!
That complimentary happy hour came in handy lol. I hope you two lovebirds have a great time! ❤
You guys make a beautiful couple. I like that you do date nights. We try to have them at least a few times a month. I’ve been thinking about planning one soon, too! THanks for the idea!
Yes definitely plan one soon. Thanks for reading.
The suite looks so nice and woah you got to drive a Telsa! lol I’ve learned to love staycations. This summer I’ve been doing a lot around NYC. I travel a lot and people think I know my city so well and I don’t. It boosts the economy in your hometown and you get to enjoy the things tourists do in a cheesy/cool kinda way.
Yes I agree! It’s great to be a tourist in your own city!
Sounds like a great staycation and date day/night! The hotel was so cute, and you got to drive a Tesla, so cool!
Telsa 🙌🙌🙌. Yes the hotel was wonderful.
