Hey, it’s Anthony (Hutch) checking in for this week’s edition of Truth Tuesday.

Another Birthday is approaching, and I wanted to take time to reflect on this past year. I would say year 34 has been very productive and full of growth on multiple levels. Each year, I try to take a progressive step forward and this year has been no different.

In year 34, a great deal of my personal growth can be attributed to me being married to Sheena. I have to say that she continually pushes me to be a better person through communication and digging deeper into issues and subjects that arise even when I have reservations about doing so.

This is still a work in progress, but I feel that my communication skills and ability to listen and empathize with others has improved. In turn, it has positively affected my marriage as well as interaction with others. I had a tendency to be judgemental without even realizing it, but through growth this year I’ve been able to make progress in this area.

This year I’ve also seen progress in my higher learning endeavours. My MBA program has by no means been easy, and it has taken a lot of time and dedication. As graduation approaches, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. It has taken many late nights, the loss of free time and hanging out with Sheena, but she has been super supportive and understanding. It has been a great learning experience, but I will definitely be happy when this journey is complete.

In year 34, I’ve taken great strides in my professional growth. In January, I had the opportunity to join a great organization and take a wonderful job that I truly enjoy. I have learned many new things and get to work with a great group of people. Changing jobs is never easy, but 34 was the year that saw me take the career leap I always wanted.

Overall, 34 has been a blast! Full of great experiences with my wonderful wife whom I’m thankful for everyday. Now, I’m looking towards 35 and the adventures that lie ahead!
