Hey, it’s Anthony aka Hutch, and I’m back with another blog post to celebrate our upcoming second wedding anniversary. HutchStew Turns Two on April 2nd, and these two years of marriage have proven to be some of the best years of my life. Being married has been an adjustment, but at the same time very rewarding. One of the best things about being married is getting to share life with someone, and lucky for me I have learned quite a bit from my wife. Sheena has helped me grow, merely by watching her grow/evolve.
If you’re a regular to the blog, you know our journey hasn’t always been filled with rainbows and butterflies. Our relationship has taken work and a lot of communication, and most of our communication progression can be attributed to Sheena. She is in tune with herself more than anyone I know. She is not only comfortable with expressing her emotions, but also possesses the ability to fully live in/experience them. She has the unique ability to feel what is going on and not hold it in. This is one of the many things I admire about my wife, and I’ve taken notes and tried to emulate.
Another thing I admire about Sheena is her drive. One day about a year ago, Sheena mentioned she wanted to be a blogger. Shortly after, she bought her domain, set up photo shoots and started the blog. I was in shock at how quickly she put her ideas into motion and made it work. She is constantly going to different events, honing her skill-set and creating amazing content. I am so proud of all her accomplishments that it’s difficult to effectively put it into words.
She is one of the most compassionate people on the planet, and this truly inspires me. Her brain is constantly in “how can I help” mode. She is always thinking of a kind act or good deed to do for someone. Half of the things that she does for people she doesn’t tell the public about. Sheena has always been more of a finished product in our relationship, but I like to think she’s more finished than most of us. That’s due to ability to really feel and truly experience things (even the bad). She is open to working things out and wanting to know the “root” cause. It used drive me crazy, but now I can say that I finally get it. Finding the root cause and then exploring how to fix it has helped our marriage so much!
So, for year two I am thankful for Sheena’s:
- Ambition
- Kindness
- Patience
I’ll be back on the blog soon, Hutch
Very sweet blog post. It’s also awesome that you support her blogging as her co-blogger. Happy two-year anniversary and wishing you many more!
Thanks so much!
Love it! Happy Anniversary, you two!
Awww thanks so much
This is so sweet! It’s an awesome thing when you can admire your partner, even after being together for a while. I love that you both are so transparent and don’t give off the facade that marriage is rainbows, sprinkles, glitter, unicorns…you get the point LOL! Though I am not married, I know that relationships, period, take a lot of work and effort, and things aren’t always good, but when you find the right one, it is always, always worth it.
Yes, just like you said relationships take a lot of work and effort but it’s definitely worth it.
Happy Anniversary. This is a great practice, to remember and cherish the things we love and appreciate about our mates, that often get taken for granted over time. Way to go!
Thanks! Yes, if you’re not careful things can be taken for granted.
Happy Anniversary! It’s great you can still admire your partner even after y’all have been together for awhile.
Thanks so much
This is by far the sweetest thing I’ve read online this week. Happy 2nd Anniversary to you both. Having been married for almost 8 years, I can definitely say that marriage, in general, has taught me a lot about being willing to progress and learning to get to the root of things. It’s not sunny skies and rainbows all the time, but definitely worth it!
Awww thanks so much! Yes, it teaches you so much and it’s definitely worth it.
Wishing you a wonderful anniversary this year and many more to come. I love reading how a husband feels about his wife. It is truly refreshing. I appreciate you both for sharing the real deal.
Thanks so much ❤️
Beautiful love letter to your MRS.. As a 18 yr marriage veteran I can attest that remembering marriage is a marathon not a race is always helpful!
18 years = goals ❤️ and you’re so right it’s definitely a marathon
This is the sweetest and most heartfelt blog post in the world! I love the love that you share together, and the admiration and respect that you have for each other as an individual within a growing marriage.
Awww thanks so much for reading
